Groton Pond History
Camp 19 - Wingwood
Al and Margaret Coons purchased the property in 1938 from Richard Hooper. They built several tent platforms as part of a very comfortable tent site which they used for a number of years. In about 1946 they build a small cabin to supplement their tent sites and they expanded that cabin over many years. The fireplace was a project lasting many years since the stone had to be brought in by rowboat.
